Waiting on Wednesday: A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir

My TBR list is always growing and I thought it would be fun to share my anticipation for those books with all of you. This is not my own original meme; it belongs to Breaking the Spine. It specifically spotlights upcoming releases. As it implies in the title, I'll be posting this meme on Wednesdays. Please feel free to comment and let me know what books you guys are waiting on as well!

A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir
Published by Razorbill
Expected Pub. Date: August 30, 2016
Pre-Order: Amazon | B&N | Book Depository
A Torch Against the Night takes readers into the heart of the Empire as Laia and Elias fight their way north to liberate Laia’s brother from the horrors of Kauf Prison. Hunted by Empire soldiers, manipulated by the Commandant, and haunted by their pasts, Laia and Elias must outfox their enemies and confront the treacherousness of their own hearts.

In the city of Serra, Helene Aquilla finds herself bound to the will of the Empire’s twisted new leader, Marcus. When her loyalty is questioned, Helene finds herself taking on a mission to prove herself—a mission that might destroy her, instead.

I love An Ember in the Ashes, so it's no surprise that I am dying for A Torch Against the Night. There was an excerpt released along with the cover reveal that just gave me SO many feels! It made the wait for this book even more difficult, I don't know how I'm going to survive.

Read the excerpt of A Torch Against the Night here. Then please message me so we can all freak out over it together!

Sabaa Tahir is the New York Times bestselling author of the young adult fantasy AN EMBER IN THE ASHES. She grew up in California’s Mojave Desert at her family’s 18-room motel. There, she spent her time devouring fantasy novels, raiding her brother’s comic book stash and playing guitar badly. She began writing An Ember in the Ashes while working nights as a newspaper editor. She likes thunderous indie rock, garish socks and all things nerd. Sabaa currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her family.

    1. I think it's more of a triangle since one ship was squashed in the first one.

  8. AHHHH I need to decide if I'm going to read this! Is it just me or has it been over a year since An Ember, though? Didn't that one come out in January, 2015? GAH. I CAN REMEMBER NOTHING. Ahem. Anyway, I was a major black sheep when it came to the first book, but I'm still curious to where the story is heading. XD

    1. I don't think you're mistaken but remember that originally there wasn't going to be a sequel. It was only because of the fans going nuts for a sequel that Penguin bought it.
