Waiting on Wednesday: Roseblood by A.G. Howard

My TBR list is always growing and I thought it would be fun to share my anticipation for those books with all of you. This is not my own original meme; it belongs to Breaking the Spine. It specifically spotlights upcoming releases. As it implies in the title, I'll be posting this meme on Wednesdays. Please feel free to comment and let me know what books you guys are waiting on as well!

Roseblood by A.G. Howard
Publisher: Amulet Books
Expected Publication Date: Jan. 10, 2017
Pre-Order it: Amazon | B&N | Book Depository
In this modern day spin on Leroux’s gothic tale of unrequited love turned to madness, seventeen-year-old Rune Germain has a mysterious affliction linked to her operatic talent, and a horrifying mistake she’s trying to hide. Hoping creative direction will help her, Rune’s mother sends her to a French arts conservatory for her senior year, located in an opera house rumored to have ties to The Phantom of the Opera.

At RoseBlood, Rune secretly befriends the masked Thorn—an elusive violinist who not only guides her musical transformation through dreams that seem more real than reality itself, but somehow knows who she is behind her own masks. As the two discover an otherworldly connection and a soul-deep romance blossoms, Thorn’s dark agenda comes to light and he’s forced to make a deadly choice: lead Rune to her destruction, or face the wrath of the phantom who has haunted the opera house for a century, and is the only father he’s ever known.

A. G. Howard brings the romantic storytelling that Splintered fans adore to France—and an entirely new world filled with lavish romance and intrigue—in a retelling inspired by a story that has captivated generations. Fans of both the Phantom of the Opera musical and novel, as well as YA retellings such as Marissa Meyer’s Cinder, will devour RoseBlood.
Some of you might know this, but I love The Phantom of the Opera, the book and the Broadway show. I have been dying for someone to write a YA re-telling of this story for what feels like ages, and then I heard of Roseblood!

I neeeeeed this book, guys. I haven't read any of A.G. Howard's other books but maybe this will be the one that will have me devouring everything she's ever written! We shall see ;)

What do you guys think? Is this one on your TBR? Is this the first time you're hearing of it? Have you read A.G.'s Splintered Series? Let me know ^_^

A.G. loves to hear from readers, so feel free to drop her an email or a good old fashioned letter. She can be reached either way. Although she may not be able to answer each one personally, she always reads them and enjoys the feedback.

As for blurb requests or interviews, due to a heavy workload, A.G. has taken an indefinite break from giving out quotes for books or taking part in blog interviews. Check back here periodically to see when she's open to requests again.

  6. I adore A.G.'s writing! She is the only author who can make me like a love triangle, ha ha. I adored the Splintered books, and I read her NA Architect Of Song a little bit ago and loved it, too. I am not so keen on Phantom Of Opera, I don't know why, so I most likely won't be reading this, but who knows what will happen in the future when my ARC pile calms down (which I am working on). I hope you love this book and want to read all of her others!

    1. That's awesome that you love A.G.'s other books but implore you to that you check out this book. The original Phantom of the Opera is awesome and I think A.G. has a great spinoff here.
