Waiting on Wednesday: The Girl Who Fell by Shannon M. Parker

My TBR list is always growing and I thought it would be fun to share my anticipation for those books with all of you. This is not my own original meme; it belongs to Breaking the Spine. It specifically spotlights upcoming releases. As it implies in the title, I'll be posting this meme on Wednesdays. Please feel free to comment and let me know what books you guys are waiting on as well!

Publication Date: March 1, 2016

Synopsis:

His obsession.

Her fall.

In this dark kissing book, high school senior Zephyr Doyle is swept off her feet—and into an intense relationship—by the new boy in school.

Zephyr is focused. Focused on leading her team to the field hockey state championship and leaving her small town for her dream school, Boston College.

But love has a way of changing things.

Enter the new boy in school: the hockey team’s starting goaltender, Alec. He’s cute, charming, and most important, Alec doesn’t judge Zephyr. He understands her fears and insecurities—he even shares them. Soon, their relationship becomes something bigger than Zephyr, something she can’t control, something she doesn’t want to control.

Zephyr swears it must be love. Because love is powerful, and overwhelming, and…terrifying?

But love shouldn’t make you abandon your dreams, or push your friends away. And love shouldn’t make you feel guilty—or worse, ashamed.

So when Zephyr finally begins to see Alec for who he really is, she knows it’s time to take back control of her life.

If she waits any longer, it may be too late.

There is something really important that you guys need to know. I am a huge hockey fan. When hockey seasons starts (which is in a matter of days!! YAAASSSS) I become somewhat of a hermit and watch hockey almost nonstop. So when I saw that this book is about hockey and heartache, I didn't need to know anymore. Hockey is one of the most under-appreciated sports and to finally see it in a book, I'm so excited!

  1. I'm really excited for this one, too! I don't play sports myself, but I love YA contemporary romances that feature them. :D

    1. I'm not big on sports being in books in general, not because I don't like sports but because I haven't read a book where I found that it's interesting BUT I love hockey so if it's featured in this book as much as I think it might be I'm sure I'll like it.

  4. This book sounds INTENSE! I do like that it has hockey, that's fun. :D I'm from Detroit (Hockeytown) so I get the Hockey love. I'm not personally a huge sports fan in general (except the Olympics, LOVE the Olympics) but I enjoy it some. I'm glad that you're so excited for this book! I've seen the cover but didn't know what it was about. I'm glad to see it address the issue of a relationship taking over all aspects of life. As, I've seen this happen and it can be problematic. I hope you LOVE it!

    1. Ah yes, I love the Red Wings! So much great hockey history there. I'm crazy over the Winter Olympics ^_^

I think we've all experienced a relationship that takes over our lives so I'm glad that this book is going to address that as well!
