Waiting on Wednesday: Fireblood by Elly Blake

My TBR list is always growing and I thought it would be fun to share my anticipation for those books with all of you. This is not my own original meme; it belongs to Breaking the Spine. It specifically spotlights upcoming releases. As it implies in the title, I'll be posting this meme on Wednesdays. Please feel free to comment and let me know what books you guys are waiting on as well!

Publisher: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
Pub. Date: September 12th, 2017
Pre-Order it: Amazon | B&N | Book Depository
In this action-packed sequel to Frostblood, the future of Ruby's world and a court ruled by the love of her life depends on the uncovered secrets of her past..

Against all odds, Ruby has defeated the villainous Frost King and melted his throne of ice. But the bloodthirsty Minax that was trapped inside is now haunting her kingdom and everyone she loves. The answers to its demise may lie to the south in Sudesia, the land of the Firebloods, and a country that holds the secrets to Ruby's powers and past....

Despite warnings from her beloved Arcus, Ruby accompanies a roguish Fireblood named Kai to Sudesia, where she must master her control of fire in a series of trials to gain the trust of the suspicious Fireblood queen. Only then can she hope to access the knowledge that could defeat the rampaging Minax--which grows closer every moment. But as sparks fly in her moments alone with Kai, how can Ruby decide whom to trust? The fate of both kingdoms is now in her hands.

Guys, I need this book. I don't know how, I don't know when, but I'm going to do everything in my power to get my hands on this book as soon as possible.

When I saw the cover and synopsis for Fireblood, this was me:

I need to know what's going to happen to Ruby and Arcus, and WHO is this mysterious fireblood? Are they going to disrupt my ship? Am I going to be in tears? I NEED ANSWERS!

What about you guys? Have you read Frostblood? Are you excited for FirebloodLet me know!

Elly Blake loves fairy tales, old houses, and owls. After earning a BA in English literature, she held a series of seemingly random jobs, including project manager, customs clerk, graphic designer, reporter for a local business magazine, and library assistant. She lives in Southwestern Ontario with her husband, kids and a Siberian Husky mix who definitely shows Frostblood tendencies.

I only saw the cover a few days ago but I like that we have similar tastes in genres, it means I am going right somewhere (I can read your reviews and then fangirl them and then wait for the release date which takes forever to come). 11. I am really excited about this book publishing in 2017 in addition to Frostblood! What I'm not excited about is the love triangle that seems to be appearing, based on the synopsis. Still, I loved Frostblood as well, so I'm more than likely going to read this book. I hope you enjoy this book when you get the chance to read it!

Have a wonderful week, Brittany. =)

  17. This does look good and makes me want to read Frostblood even more! Plus a killer cover.

  18. Ooooh, I think I may need to wait to read book one until I can be sure there's no love triangle!

    1. I've been told not to worry about it, so hopefully the synopsis is just misleading OR it's just extra drama without Ruby actually loving this mysterious Fireblood.

  19. Isn't it crazy when we read a book before it comes out and then are immediately so anxious for the next book even though we know it will be at least a year till we can read it? Love this choice! Great pick! And thanks for visiting my Wednesday Post on Lisa Loves Literature earlier!

  20. I'm excited for Fireblood too! And I'm curious about this mysterious Kai person... and what it will mean for the Ruby/Arcus ship. And I LOVE this cover!! I'm glad we only have to wait until this fall to read it and not an entire year. :)
