Shiny Broken Pieces Blog Tour: NYC Restaurant Recs

Hey guys, today as a part of the Shiny Broken Pieces blog tour, I'm sharing with you an awesome guest post from Sona Charaipotra about NYC restaurants (this topic is so near and dear to my heart)! I hope you guys enjoy it!

Publisher: HarperTeen
Publication Date: July 12, 2016
Featuring a diverse cast of characters, plenty of gossip, lies, and scandal, Shiny Broken Pieces continues with the soapy drama readers loved in Tiny Pretty Things.

June, Bette, and Gigi are competing one final time for a spot at the prestigious American Ballet Company. With the stakes higher than ever, these girls have everything to lose…and no one is playing nice. June is starting to finally see herself as a prima ballerina. But being the best could mean sacrificing the love of her life. Legacy dancer Bette is determined to clear her name after she was suspended and accused of hurting her rival, Gigi. And Gigi is not going to let Bette—or the other dancers who bullied her—go unpunished. It all comes down to this last dance. Who will make the cut? And who will lose her dream forever?

#ShinyBrokenPieces NYC Restaurant Recs!

By Sona Charaipotra

If you’ve spent any time with the girls from our dance dramas Tiny Pretty Things and Shiny Broken Pieces, you know that the three ballerinas at the center of the spectacle are pretty darn hangry! Which is a shame, because New York City, where the American Ballet Conservatory is based, is chock full of delicious eats. Here’s where Bette, June and Gigi would go for a lux bite post-performance.

June
Of course she’d want some quality Korean BBQ. Most of the better places in Manhattan center around Koreatown in the Herald Square area, but for a fancy date night with her boyfriend Jayhe, June would hit up the yummy BANN in Hell’s Kitchen. It’s upscale BBQ, and once you taste them, you’ll forever crave the spicy chicken wings. Delish!

Bette
For Bette, everything in life is about the (ultra-lux) experience. So of course, she’d head to the Vogue-approved, Ralph Lauren-owned Polo Bar for her fancy night out – in large part just to prove that she could score that coveted reservation. But it’s also totally got that posh and proper Upper East Side vibe. Salmon and salad would be this girl’s go-to.

Gigi
She’s not vegetarian, but Gigi’s SanFran Boho vibe lends itself well to the occasional meatless day. So she’d stick close to school and check out the Ayurved Café, which delves deep into an ancient holistic lifestyle focused on healing, rejuvenation and self-realization. Yep, sounds like Gigi. The pre-set menu is an NYC bargain!

  2. Fun post! Every time I've gone to visit my sister who lives in NYC we are trying to find a Mexican restaurant that serves cheese dip like we're used to here in the midwest. We have yet to find it!

  9. I LOVE these recommendations, and will definitely have to stop by and check these restaurants out next time I visit NYC! :D I haven't started this series yet, just because "soap opera" themes and me don't really fit together, but nonetheless it sounds very exciting and angsty!
