Waiting on Wednesday: The Language of Thorns & Ever the Brave

My TBR list is always growing and I thought it would be fun to share my anticipation for those books with all of you. This is not my own original meme; it belongs to Breaking the Spine. It specifically spotlights upcoming releases. As it implies in the title, I'll be posting this meme on Wednesdays. Please feel free to comment and let me know what books you guys are waiting on as well!

The Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic by Leigh Bardugo

Enter the Grishaverse...

Love speaks in flowers. Truth requires thorns.

Travel to a world of dark bargains struck by moonlight, of haunted towns and hungry woods, of talking beasts and gingerbread golems, where a young mermaid's voice can summon deadly storms and where a river might do a lovestruck boy's bidding but only for a terrible price.

Inspired by myth, fairy tale, and folklore, #1 New York Times-bestselling author Leigh Bardugo has crafted a deliciously atmospheric collection of short stories filled with betrayals, revenge, sacrifice, and love.

Perfect for new readers and dedicated fans, these tales will transport you to lands both familiar and strange―to a fully realized world of dangerous magic that millions have visited through the novels of the Grishaverse.

This collection of six stories includes three brand-new tales, all of them lavishly illustrated with art that changes with each turn of the page, culminating in six stunning full-spread illustrations as rich in detail as the stories themselves.

I bet all of you are really surprised that I'm excited for The Language of Thorns. I mean, it's not like I've mentioned how much I love Leigh Bardugo's work on numerous occasions or anything . . .

And now, we are finally getting a bind-up of the fairy tales mentioned in The Grisha Trilogy, plus some new ones! To sum up: Leigh Bardugo + another book in the Grishaverse + beautiful illustrations!

Check out my reviews of The Grisha Trilogy: Shadow and Bone, Siege and Storm, Ruin and RisingBeware, these reviews are from three years ago, so they are pretty rough and have no gifs xD

Ever the Divided. Ever the Feared. Ever the Brave.

After saving King Aodren with her newfound Channeler powers, Britta only wants to live a peaceful life in her childhood home. Unfortunately, saving the King has created a tether between them she cannot sever, no matter how much she'd like to, and now he's insisting on making her a noble lady. And there are those who want to use Britta’s power for evil designs. If Britta cannot find a way to harness her new magical ability, her life—as well as her country—may be lost.

The stakes are higher than ever in the sequel to Ever the Hunted, as Britta struggles to protect her kingdom and her heart.

I cannot stop flipping out over this gorgeous cover! It's my favorite color AND it's shiny!

Ever the Hunted ended on an awful cliffhanger, and I desperately need to know what's going to happen to my ship!

Erin Summerill was born in England. After spending years bouncing between Air Force bases in Hawaii, England, and California, her family settled in Utah, where Erin graduated with a B.A. in English from Brigham Young University. She had aspirations to write the next great American novel, but writing proved tougher than she first thought. So she grabbed a Nikon and became a professional photographer while crafting manuscript after manuscript. The scenic detour of shooting weddings across the United States, as well as internationally, provided world-building inspiration. It gave her the vision to draft her debut YA fantasy, EVER THE HUNTED. Now when she isn’t writing, or shooting a wedding, she’s chasing her four kids, two dogs, one cat, and five chickens. This could be why she downs massive amounts of Coke Zero and Hot tamales.

  15. OMG!!!! Those covers are seriously STUNNING!! I think I'll feature them both on future "Shelf Candy Saturday" posts! <3 <3

I ADORE Leigh Bardugo!! I'll read ANYTHING she writes, but, if it's related to the Grisha trilogy, I'm even MORE interested!! So I'm adding this book to my Goodreads shelves.

As for the second book, I haven't read anything by this author, but I know this is the sequel to "Ever The Hunted", which also has a GORGEOUS cover. So, another one for my Goodreads shelves!!! YAAAAAAAS!!!!

    Thanks for featuring these books!! <3 <3 :) :)
